Welcome to Fyltec +

Fyltec helps you keep your children safe online. Install the app on the parent phone, create an account, then pair each child device. Once paired, Fyltec filters unsafe websites, lets you set schedules, and shows device location on Premium.

How do I pair a child device? +

On the parent app open More → Pair a Child Device to get a 6-digit code. Install Fyltec on the child's phone, choose This is a child device, and enter the code. The device appears on your dashboard once pairing completes.

Which permissions does the child device need? +

For full protection the child device needs VPN to filter DNS, Location set to Allow all the time for Premium location features, and on Android the Accessibility and Device Admin permissions for app rules and tamper protection. The setup wizard walks through each one.

Why must I grant 'Allow all the time' for location? +

Android only reports a child's location in the background if you choose Allow all the time. If you pick While using the app, location updates pause when the app is closed. You may need to set this in the device's Settings → Location screen.

How does content filtering work? +

Fyltec uses DNS-level filtering to block unsafe websites before they load. Requests to adult, gambling, malware and other blocked categories are refused while safe sites continue to load normally.

Can I allow a specific website? +

Yes. On the Allow List tab add the exact website and it will always be allowed even if its category is blocked. Anything on the Allow List overrides your blocked categories.

How do schedules work? +

On the Schedule tab you can create Bedtime, Focus and Free-Time windows for selected days and times. During Bedtime the device internet is restricted while calls and SMS keep working.

Where can I see my child's location? +

Open the Location tab on the parent app. It shows each paired child device's most recent position. Location is a Premium feature and requires Allow all the time location permission on the child device.

What plans are available? +

Fyltec offers Basic (up to 2 devices), Family (up to 3 devices) and Premium (up to 10 devices, plus scheduling and location). All plans start with a 7-day free trial. You are not charged until the trial ends and you can cancel anytime.

How am I billed? +

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, using the payment method on your store account. Manage or cancel your subscription from the store subscription screen.

Troubleshooting

Filtering doesn't seem to be working +

Check that the child device shows as Online on your dashboard and that the VPN permission is still granted. If a child removed the VPN, you will receive a tamper alert and can re-run the setup wizard on the device.

The child app is stuck on the location screen +

Make sure device Location Services are switched on, then grant the location permission. If it still does not advance, close and reopen the child app because location will continue to update in the background once permission is granted.
